Are you, your family and community looking for inspiration, motivation and encouragement?

On April 11 at 4pm EDT tune in to #WeKeepPlaying, a live stream event from the Women’s Sports Foundation and Yahoo Sports! An iconic, all-star lineup of women leaders, athletes and coaches are coming together to provide inspiration to young people around the world.

#WeKeepPlaying will feature – Billie Jean King, Sabrina Ionescu, Scout Bassett, Carli Lloyd, Kendall Coyne Schofield, Katie Ledecky, Chiney Ogwumike and Katie Sowers.

The program will be hosted by Cari Champion with a special guest appearance from Condoleezza Rice. Watch live on the Yahoo Sports website or Yahoo Sports app!

  Kids need to stay engaged and active during this time of social distancing.   They also need to connect with coaches and mentors. This is especially   important for those in underserved communities where the effects of the   public health crisis can be more pronounced. So, at the U.S. Soccer   Foundation, we are helping kids adapt to this new reality while continuing   our mission of improving lives through soccer.

 Today, we are launching Soccer for Success at Home to bring the core components of   the program to where many families and children are now — at home. This   provides kids and families with the opportunity to engage with the program's   five components: physical activity, health & wellness, mentorship,   community engagement, and safe spaces.

These activities and resources are available to everyone, including our   program partners, coach-mentors, participants, and people like you—our   supporters.

This week, Coach Mike hosts a Soccer for Success video session   that focuses on ball control. Don't have a ball? No problem. You can do this   activity with household items (like socks!) in a small, indoor space.

Health & Wellness

Soccer for Success teaches the importance of consuming healthy food to support

healthy, active bodies.

To help mitigate the impacts of coronavirus on the health and wellness of families

and players, check out resources from Food Resource and Action Center. They

provide numerous ways to help communities access healthy food during these

uncertain times.

Safe Spaces

One of the many reasons soccer has been dubbed the “world’s game” is that it can be

played anywhere! All you need is your body and a safe space to build skills and engage

in physical activity.

During this time when social distancing is a top priority, we can get creative and turn

whatever space we have into a safe place to play. Just remember the following:

  • Any space will do
  • Move fragile items around you
  • Clear the floor
  • Check for slippery spots
